is an ongoing Japanese survival suspense ''shōnen'' manga series by Haro Aso. It's serialized by Shogakukan on ''Weekly Shonen Sunday S'' magazine. It was adapted into an original video animation series. ==Plot== Arisu and his friend was transported into another world called Borderland. At first, he thought that everything was only a dream but he eventually realized that in Borderland they must play games to survive. When Arisu plays his first game he confesses that he felt alive for the first time in his life. At first, Arisu viewed Borderland as something of an Utopia. However, all of his friends are killed in a Game that could only be cleared by letting thee other Players die and letting only one Player survive. All his friends decided to sacrifice themselves so Arisu can survive and this game allowed Arisu to understand human hearts. After the game, Arisu goes mad when he found goat's meat as his gift for completing the game and decides to mourn all of his friends who sacrificed themselves by burning down the whole Game Arena as he couldn't bear to leave the corpses there, and yet he didn't have the courage to see the dead bodies. For a few days Arisu was lying down in front of the charred Game Arena and was found by a girl named Usagi, a girl who also participated in Arisu's second Game. Usagi asked if Arisu wants to survive. Arisu didn't answer at first, but after Usagi took a few steps away from him, he started screaming about his will to survive even though he felt guilty about the previous Game. Usagi sympathises with Arisu and rescued him. Karube once told Arisu that there is a way to get out of Borderland. To find out how, Arisu was told that he must find a place called the 'Beach'. After recovering fully, Arisu started to search for the 'Beach' and believe in its existence because he wants to respect Karube's last words. After spending a few days he finally found the 'Beach' and was shocked when he saw many people in the 'Beach'. The leader of the Beach welcomed him and Usagi warmly and showed Arisu the answer he was seeking - the way to get out of Borderland. Residents of the Beach believe the way for one person to escape the Borderlands is to collect all the cards. When Arisu meets Chisiya Shuntaro, a man from his second game, he agrees to help him and a few others leave the Beach. However, Arisu is being used by Shuntaro and gets captured. Then, the Beach becomes the site of the next game, "Witch Hunt". This game leads to the destruction of the Beach and leads Arisu to two facts: That collecting cards will not allow one to escape the beach, and that other humans are controlling the games with their lives on the line. With some people who survive from the 'Witch Hunt', Arisu decide to stop play 'Game' for a while until another shocking event Unveil. A New Game. A clearly disastrous game for every player of Borderland. Because Arisu cleared the last game of 'Witch Hunt' all of Game Cards were all collected and begin an New Stage of the game.
